World Record Confirmed

Brandon in motion World Record Walk

It’s official!  Guiness has confirmed that last October, Canada set a new World Record for the largest number of people walking one kilometer at the same time.  We smashed the record on October 3, 2007, at 11:30 am, with an official count of 231,635 people.  The previous record of 100,915 was held by Australia in 2006.

In Brandon, 1,310 walkers from 10 different sites submitted offical results for the world record.  Approximately another 10 sites held walks in Brandon on the same day and time, with an unofficial total of 2000 walkers; a combined total of over 3000 walkers in Brandon on October 3, 2007!

AUSTRALIA IS HOPING TO RECLAIM THE TITLE IN 2008, SO START PLANNING FOR A REMATCH IN 2009!
